Little Shop of Horrors - October 13 - October 15, 2017

Goochland High School

 End Notes

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

It has been a great honor to serve as the Goochland Drama Artistic Director for the past six years. Throughout the many productions, I have noticed that there is an abundance of musical talent at our school. Thus, instead of doing a non-musical for our fall production, we selected the musical, Little Shop of Horrors.

Little Shop of Horrors was originally a movie in 1960 that featured a young Jack Nicholson. The movie would then be turned into a musical with book and lyrics written by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken. The two would later go on to produce major Disney movies like Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. The off-broadway premiere opened in 1982 - and because the musical was such a success. The musical adaptation was turned into a movie in 1986 that featured Rick Moranis and Ellene Greene.

I cannot express how proud I am of this cast and crew. This rehearsal process has been smooth and enjoyable, all due to the dedication of the students. What makes this production stand out from other productions is the student leadership and self-discipline.

I hope you enjoy the show!

Sincerely,

Neil Burch
Artistic Director
