Dear Friends:
This has been a summer of miracles…for Priscilla Beach Theatre and for Sandy and I. We are grateful and still in awe of how all the pieces have come together; from lawn to tent, lights, directors, musicians, students, audiences, not mention all of the stars in heaven aligning! There were times when we held our breath but thanks to the hard work of a lot of people, here we are today.
There is one individual, however, without whom none of us would be here. If it were not for our dear friend and Artistic Director Emeritus, Geronimo Sands, the next act of PBT would never take stage. From the day I met Geronimo, way back when, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that Sandy and I would be owners and guardians of the storied Priscilla Beach Theatre. We are grateful for his dedication, vision and ultimately his trust. With his continued wisdom and guidance, we will continue to move PBT forward.
We are energized by the rejuvenation of PBT. Everything has taken on new life. Our childrens programs are stronger than ever and are the bedrock of our theatre. And now, by producing “Godspell” this summer, we bring the first adult cast in decades to the stage. This is an important first step in our expansion into adult programs and productions at PBT. This leads us toward our ultimate goal of reinstating a true summer stock troupe of promising young actors working their way toward professional careers. To realize this, our plans continue to restore our beloved barn with all its possibilities.
We owe thanks to a great many people; too many to name here, but let it be said. Thank you so very much! We see a bright and exciting future for PBT and our community. Let us move forward…day-by-day!
