Investing in the Future of the Bastrop Opera House

The Bastrop Opera House has long been a place where stories are shared and community comes together. Today, that legacy is continuing through The Next Act Campaign, an exciting renovation project already underway next door to the historic Opera House.

This campaign focuses on restoring and renovating the adjacent building to expand the Opera House’s footprint and impact. When complete, the space will include new rehearsal and classroom areas, improved accessibility, and a flexible performance venue. These additions will allow us to better serve our growing youth academy, support artists and educators, and create more opportunities for performances, classes, and community events.

Construction has begun, and progress is happening every day. While the work honors the historic character of the building, it also prepares the Opera House for the future—ensuring that live theatre, arts education, and creative experiences remain accessible and thriving in Bastrop for years to come.
