Blessed Trinity Catholic High School

  Show Notes

“In a Gotham-like city,a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, hasled to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

Urinetown is silly, fun and just plain weird and we love it. The students have been able to really delve into character development and balance the comedy with truly great musical numbers. This musical is brilliantly written and challenges us to think of our future and how we are taking care of our natural resources but it does so with great savvy nodding to so many great classic musicals including Les Miserable, Chicago, The Threepenny Opera, Fiddler on the Roof and West Side Story it has something for everyone. We have had a great time putting this show together we hope you are able to get past the absurd title and really enjoy the crazy, fun and thought provoking show Urinetown.
