Guys and Dolls - April 10 - April 26, 2026

Charlotte High School

 End Notes

Guys and Dolls is a classic that explores the lives of two seemingly mismatched couples. Nathan Detroit, a smooth-talking gambler, is desperately trying to find a venue for his latest craps game. Whilst his fiancée of 14 years, the sassy Adelaide, wants nothing more than a white picket fence and a normal life. When Sky wagers Nathan that he can woo the missionary, Sarah Brown, to join him on a trip to Havana, the stage is set for an epic Cuban adventure.

Guys and Dolls premiered on Broadway in 1950 and ran for 1,200 performances. It won the Tony Award for Best Musical that year. It’s since had well over ten revivals from around the world, each with a diverse multi-talented cast.

Considering its popularity and roots in the Golden Age of Broadway, I thought it was fitting to produce this musical for my students. We've had a lot of fun bringing these characters to life! We hope you will find this production entertaining. Please sit back and enjoy the show!

On a personal note...I want to say THANK YOU for supporting CHS theatre and Troupe 0922! Your attendance, financial and emotional support, volunteer efforts, and constant praise for the students on this stage does not go unnoticed. After 36 years of teaching, I will be retiring at the end of the school year and I will always cherish the time I spent at Charlotte High.

Enjoy the Show!
