Directing musicals has always been my favorite part of being a Theatre Educator. It represents a unique way of telling complete story that requires those participating to commit to using ALL of their talents to make the final product one that they can be proud to see come to completion. In turn, I am extremely proud of the students. The hardest part of directing the musical is knowing that this is probably the last time that I will be able work so closely with the seniors before they leave Dougherty Valley. Please allow me to share a few thoughts with these wonderful students.
Dillon Aurelio-Perata - It's amazing how quickly four years passes by! Thank you for your commitment to all of your roles and your quick wit to make any situation as fun as possible. Work hard and push yourself to further your training and you can go far!
Gina Brooks - I'm so happy that you joined us this year! I love it when the talent that I see in class finally makes it out onto the stage!
Ryan Chan - Sorry that there isn't a tuba part in this show to rock out to, but I hope you enjoyed the experience in spite of the missing arrangement! Thank you for all the energy and enthusiasm that you have brought to the drama program the past two years! Your commitment has been outstanding and I truly appreciate all the hard work!
Devyn Diolazo - Allow me to publicly admit that I was wrong! I'm so thankful that I was wrong, and even more thankful that you have been such an integral part of this program for the past two years! I don't know how you balance all of the things that you do, or how you do them all so well, but I'm honored and thankful that you chose to spend a great deal of time in this program.
Kyle Doan - Your work on the shows has been a wonderful addition to the overall look of our productions and I want to thank you for everything that you have done! I'm sure that this is just the beginning of an amazing career!
Samay Dubey - It's been great to work with you over the past three years! I love the enthusiasm that you bring to all you do, and the way that you approach your work to creat the best performance possible!
Kyle Punsal - I'm glad that you were able to find a passion for performing over the past two years! Enjoy it and continue it! You won't be sorry.
Rachel Su - I'm glad that you were able to join us for this production! Your personality has been a great addition to the whole production process!
Justin Sun - Your work on this production has been a great contribution to the whole process. From helping people plunk out their parts to covering for people missing rehearsal, I appreciate all that you did to make this production a success!
Kelsey Villareal - You may be quiet, but you have made your presence known these past few years and have had an amazing impact on this program. I thank you for all your dedication over these last few years!
Ann Warque - Thank you for all the work that you have done on the musicals the past three years! It's been exciting to watch your talent grow with each production.
