Lyle Sobba
Pit Conductor
Lyle Sobba is the conductor for the orchestra for Evita. Past shows are In the Heights, A Christmas Story, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Seussical, and Guys and Dolls. The orchestration for Evita has been a highly rewarding and challenging process. Lyle would like to thank the students and adults performing in the orchestra they make this so much fun.

Wyatt Smith
Trumpet 1/Rehearsal Accompianist
Wyatt Smith is a graduate of GCHS & teaches music in Garden City. He helps with musical direction & was accompanist for In The Heights, Peter and the Starcatcher, Pippin, & Evita. He has musical directed/directed Aladdin Jr. & The Pirates of Penzance Jr. Wyatt loves being a part of the GCHS Drama Family and is thankful for every moment he gets to bring art to life.

Olivia Henning
Woodwind 1
Olivia Henning, a native of Newton, KS, graduated from Emporia State University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. She is currently in her second year as the Assistant Vocal Music Director at Garden City High School and is loving every second! She also assists the bands and orchestras at GCHS. Past credits include pit In the Heights, Pippin, and Evita. Go Buffs!

Summer Miller
Violin
Mrs. Miller teaches orchestra in Garden City. She has played violin for 34 years. Currently she teaches about 200 orchestra students daily at GCHS and HGMS. Her hobbies include photography and cooking. She and her husband, Matthew, of 17 years have 3 kids – Caleb, Joseph and Raelynn. They enjoy camping as a family, and leading music at church.

Makenzi Johnson
Woodwind 2
Makenzi Johnson is the assistant band director at GCHS. She is also the drumline coordinator, assists with middle school band at HGMS and is the high school music department chair. She thoroughly enjoys playing in musical pits. She is married to CJ Johnson, trombonist in the pit, and they work hard and live to spoil their three dogs, Nelhybel, Claire Annette, and Layla.
