Caroline Walsh
(The Witch - Into The Woods at Hinsdale Central HS) is honored to be a nominee for IHSMTA! Next year, she will be studying communications at Syracuse University. She would like to thank her voice teacher, Dr. Tracey Ford for teaching her everything she knows (vocal or otherwise). Some previous roles include Veronica (Heathers; current), Janis (Mean Girls), and Marcy Park (Spelling Bee).

Ethan Wankel
(Gleb Vaganov - Anastasia at Bartlett HS) is very excited to be a 2024 IHSMTA Nominee. He would like to thank his parents and sister for their continual support across his theatre career. He would also like to thank his directors, he wouldn’t be the same performer without them. Some of his favorite roles have been Professor Callahan (Legally Blonde), and Dr. Neville Craven (The Secret Garden).

(Shrek - Shrek The Musical at Burlington Central HS) is THRILLED to be a nominee for IHSMTA, it is something he has dreamed about for years! Past credits include: Bobby Strong (Urinetown), Damien Hubbard (Mean Girls), and Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd)! He plans to attend Boston Conservatory at Berklee for a BFA in musical theatre! Special shoutout to Mrs. H, Struyk, MG Martens, Colin Bokowy, his Papa, and the rest of his family!

(Olive Ostrovsky - The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Hinsdale South HS) Overjoyed does not begin to describe how Sophia feels to be a nominee for IHSMTA’s Best Performer in an Actress Role! Credits: Sue Snell in Carrie: The Musical at Illinois Theatre Festival, Songbook Academy Ambassador (2022, 2023). In the fall, Sophia plans to attend Northwestern University, majoring in Theatre and minoring in Dance. She is forever grateful for everyone who has supported her dream!
