LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
Dear Audience Members,
Welcome to Joliet Central High School and thank you for attending our fall 2017 musical theatre production, ANNIE! In this family-friendly musical, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan.
The world has changed quite a bit since Annie first captured the hearts of audiences worldwide, but many of the underlying messages and universal themes that this show touches on are just as profound today. Annie is a play that speaks to that very special part inside us that is still optimistic and has an innocent faith that even in the face of impossible odds, dreams can still come true and hope can be triumphant. When times get tough, remember that the sun will come out tomorrow!
The cast and crew have been working hard for weeks to put on an incredible production. I would like to thank all the students and directors, as well as their families, for the sacrifices made to bring this production to life on stage this weekend. We can all be proud of how far we have come in less than two months.
Thank you for actively supporting the students of Joliet Central. It is that support of family, friends, and community that helps ensure our students can succeed in reaching their goals, both in school and in life. Please accept my sincere gratitude for your attendance. Enjoy the show!
