Oliver! (MTI) - March 13 - March 14, 2026

Kokomo Curtain Call Theatre for Children

 Director's Note

Bringing Oliver Jr. to life has been such a joyful and unexpected journey. I’ll be honest — when this title was first suggested, I knew very little about this adaptation beyond its classic roots and the iconic line, "More? You want More?" What I quickly discovered, however, was a show filled with energy, humor, heart, and some incredibly fun music that has been living in my head (and happily stuck there!) ever since rehearsals began. The more time I spent with this show, the more I grew to truly appreciate its charm and the vibrant spirit it offers our young performers.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Suze Reynolds, our Music Director for not only recommending this show, but for six incredible years of dedication to our program. Her passion, patience, and unwavering commitment to musical excellence have shaped the sound and soul of our productions season after season. We are better because of her leadership, and this production is no exception.

A very special thank you also goes to our choreographer, Randi Lyn Weeks. Staging dynamic, engaging choreography for a cast of 50+ students is no small feat — yet she makes it look effortless. Her ability to create dances that are both fun and accessible, while still filling the stage with energy and storytelling, is truly remarkable. Watching our performers move with confidence and joy is a direct reflection of her talent and dedication.

Most of all, I am endlessly proud of this cast. Their willingness to learn, to trust the process, and to throw themselves wholeheartedly into every song and scene is what makes theatre so magical. Oliver Jr. reminds us of resilience, hope, and the power of community — and this group embodies that spirit beautifully.

As we continue to grow at Curtain Call Theatre for Children, we are dreaming bigger than ever. Larger productions, expanded programming, improved technical elements, and more opportunities for young performers and their families are all within reach — but they require community support. If you believe in the power of youth theatre and the confidence, creativity, and connection it builds in our students, I invite you to consider becoming a donor, sponsor, or show supporter. Your investment directly impacts the experiences these young artists receive and helps us continue raising the curtain on even greater possibilities.

Thank you for being part of our theatre family and for supporting the arts in our community. We hope you enjoy the show as much as we have enjoyed bringing it to life.

Theatrically,
