On behalf of the entire cast and crew, I would like to welcome you to tonight’s performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie. It has been a pleasure working on this production as I have had the best team imaginable behind me this entire process. I cannot thank you enough for all of your support; I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you. Thank you to the staff and administration for your constant support of this program and thank you to my family and friends who have been my backbone through it all.
Thank you to the students who never cease to amaze me with their drive and passion for the arts. It’s unbelievably rewarding for me as a director to sit back and watch students grow into their own as this process moves forward. The commitment that these young people have brought to this musical has been remarkable.
Finally I need to thank all of the parents. Thank you for supporting your children in what they love to do and for allowing them to spend countless hours with me so that we could make this production the outstanding musical that it has become. Your support means the world not only to them, but to me.
Thoroughly Modern Millie is a story of taking chances and starting over. It reminds us that sometimes, what we really thought we wanted is usually right in front of us the whole time. It’s a reminder to laugh at the mishaps, always trust your gut, and when in doubt… dance it out! Starting over is sometimes the best thing to happen to us; never forget that!
