Murderous Night at the Museum - December 08 - December 10, 2022

Lyndhurst Middle School

 Director's Note

It is such a pleasure to bring our second Fall Play to production. Last year was our first play and it was such a success, that it will now be a yearly tradition! I want to give my co-director Maria Maloupis a special thank you for all her contributions to our production. We decided that a murder mystery would really engage our cast, but rather than go sinister, we decided on a comedic whodunit. This cast had so much fun creating the zany characters that inhabit the world of the Knotting Museum. They were challenged with creating believable, yet kind of crazy, characters and really grew in their theatrical techniques. We have a great mix of "seasoned" 8th graders and newcomers in the 6th and 7th grades, who met the theatrical challenge of collaboration and cooperation so necessary for a successful production. We have a mantra that we repeat every rehearsal, "All things good and accomplished in this world--TAKE WORK," and work they did. We had such a great turnout in auditions that we decided to double cast so that more students could be a part of our theatre magic. This resulted in an unheard of cast of 40 and 8 crew members! Double casting added more challenges that we had never faced before, but our cast and crew came through wonderfully. It is our hope that you enjoy, laugh, and are surprised by whodunit! Thank you for supporting our program and we hope to see you in the spring for our musical.
