  • Mary Blackburn

    (Choreographer) founder and Artistic Director of the American Dance Ensemble in New York City, and of Urban Artworks, a critically acclaimed presenting series at the NYC Pace Downtown Theater. She worked as a teaching artist for many years with the Lincoln Center Institute and served on the faculty of the American College Dance Festival, Dance Space Studios and the Peridance International Dance Center in NYC. Ms. Blackburn has choreographed over 70 dance works during her career as well as the musicals Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cats, Ragtime, Once Upon a Mattress, Grease, Parade, Suessical the Musical, Ms. Saigon, Little Shop of Horrors, Pride and Prejudice, Urinetown, Hairspray and In the Heights for Monclair High School’s SVPA theater troupe, as well as Footloose for Morris Knolls. Ms. Blackburn was the Artistic Director of the Dance Company of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at MHS for 10 years and has been the dance instructor there for 18 years.

  • Heather Ball

    (Set Designer) after taking time off to have her daughter, Ainsley, Heather brings all the knowledge she has learned as a theatrical scene painter and set designer into the classroom. Currently on staff at Montclair State University, where she teaches scenic painting as well as shop practicum. Heather was the Charge Scenic at George Street Playhouse from 2002-2008. She assisted on several Off Broadway set designs including;The Timekeepers and Pentecost (2004 Drama Desk Nomination for Outstanding Play). She has worked in theaters all across New Jersey including; The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, MacCarter Theatre and NJPAC. She was commissioned by the MPAC in Morristown NJ to paint a several murals throughout the theatre. Heather also enjoys helping younger generations find their passion for the arts. She was the Set Designer for the Rising Stars program in Deal NJ for three years, working with children as young as seven and has Co-Directed two of their productions.

  • Pia Kristjansen

    (Costumes) graduate of Montclair State University. She is a New Jersey based Costumer and has enjoyed getting to work with the students at Montclair High School.  Her previous theatre credits include Costume Designer for Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre's "Shakespeare in Vegas," "Big: The Musical" at Hillside Elementary, and Co-Designer for KIDDSTUFF "The Wiz" at Hangar Theatre.  She has been working as an Assistant Designer for Costume Designer, Tory Depew, Wardrobe Supervisor for "Bubble Boy: The Musical" at Hamilton Stage, as well as a seamstress at Norwegian Cruise Line's new ship "The Getaway" and Punch Drunk's "Sleep No More."  Pia doesn't know what else to say.
