What a joy to bring West Side Story back to the North Star Academy stage! In my 14th year of teaching and directing Theatre here, it has been a privilege to watch students grow and fall in love with the arts.
Everyone on the stage tonight deserves the bright lights and loving praise for all of the hours and intense research into the story about the unjust world of the 1950s in New York City. Not surprisingly, we found many connections to the struggles of the past to what we see in our society today.
