Literature is full of works that are considered 'classics,' but there are few that are more beloved than Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women.' Tackling this story and making it stage-ready was a daunting task. How do you keep a well-known tale true to it's original form but also make it fresh and relevant for current audiences? In adapting this gem for the stage, Piper J. Distel and I decided to focus heavily on the premise that no matter how strong the bonds of love that tie a family together, change is inevitable, but the love carries on. Couple our efforts with a cast that looks and acts as if they've stepped out of the book, gorgeous costumes, and timeless themes, and the result is two hours of pure magic, suitable for the whole family.
We hope you enjoy this production, and that it reminds you of the ties that bind your own life. "Families are the most beautiful thing in the world." Your heart will be where they are...
