When life throws you a plot twist, you do what any good theatre company would do—you rewrite the scene.
Originally, this summer was meant to be all about Shrek The Musical, a show we were thrilled to share with audiences across multiple cities. But due to circumstances beyond our control, our Shrek tour has been postponed until 2026. Rather than sit in the wings, we decided to make the most of the time—and the stage.
In just six short weeks, we pivoted, planned, and pulled together this production of The Importance of Being Earnest. At the same time, we hit the stage with PUFFS in both Kitchener and Hamilton (because why do one show when you can do two?). It's been a whirlwind of tea, wands, muffins, and mistaken identities—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
This show is a comedy of manners, of mistaken names, and of not-so-subtle jabs at Victorian society. But at its heart, it's also about identity, love, and the lengths we go to in order to be accepted—truths that still resonate today.
We’re absolutely thrilled to bring Earnest to Fergus and grateful for the incredible team of actors, designers, and backstage magicians who made it possible in record time. Thank you, dear audience, for joining us on this madcap journey.
Enjoy the wit, enjoy the absurdity—and above all, enjoy being Earnest.
With gratitude,
