    Simon Levy

    Simon Levy is the Producing Director for the Fountain Theatre in LA where he's been a resident playwright, director, & producer since 1993. His stage adaptation of THE GREAT GATSBY, a Finalist for the PEN Literary Award in Drama, completes his Fitzgerald Trilogy, which includes TENDER IS THE NIGHT, Winner of the PEN Literary Award in Drama, & THE LAST TYCOON, winner of numerous awards and nominated for the prestigious LA Drama Critics Circle Ted Schmitt Award for Original Play. His stage adaptation of Eliot Weinberger's celebrated article, WHAT I HEARD ABOUT IRAQ, was produced worldwide, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it won the Fringe First Award, the Adelaide Fringe Festival where it won the Fringe Award, was produced by BBC Radio, & received a 30-city UK tour. His directing, writing, & producing credits & awards are numerous. He was recently honored with the LA Drama Critics Circle Milton Katselas Lifetime Achievement Award in Directing.

    F. SCOTT FITZGERALD was born in St. Paul Minnesota, in 1896 and attended Princeton University. He was a major new literary voice whose novels "This Side of Paradise," "The Beautiful and Damned," "The Great Gatsby," and "Tender is the Night" - made him one of the most famous writers of his time. He died of a heart attack in 1940 at the age of forty-four. For his sharp social insights and pitch-perfect lyricism, Fitzgerald stands out as one of the most important American writers of the twentieth century.
