I personally want to take the time to thank the late Mr. Michael Bazile, Founder and CEO of Urban Houston Network (UHN 43.5), and Ms. Clara Brent, Owner, for taking a chance on an unknown commodity. If not for the opportunity bestowed upon me, I would not have had a platform to air my vision through "Rebirth and New Directions with Christ" on your network (2015-2016).
I cannot let this moment pass without giving tribute to Mr. Michael Bazile, whom I respectfully referred to as “Mr. B."
I celebrate God for His divine order and timing in our lives because, as believers in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, nothing happens by chance.
For God knew you were the right person to help manifest the purpose I still had stored within me. Without your unwavering belief in me, without the giving of your time and devotion towards me, R. Renee Productions would not exist.
“If you want to make God laugh, just tell him your plans.” It wasn’t until I sought understanding behind your passing that this saying truly resonated with me. Our friendship completely transformed the plans I originally had for the next stage in my life, and although your advice at times was completely unwarranted, I will always be grateful to God for you.
From our initial meeting, you always expressed confidence in my abilities and supported my vision. Often, your instructions were not always received with open arms, but being the great mentor you were, you saw through the clouds and encouraged me even more, knowing success was waiting on the other side. My life has been enriched by your friendship, and my future will always be shaped by your inspiration.
Today, with boldness and confidence, I step out in faith as I present the play, When Love Ameliorates.
This journey I am undertaking will not be the same without you, but know that your lessons, as well as your “only Mr. B” comeback moments, will be with me every step of the way.
Before your transition, you charged me with the responsibility of writing about "When Love Looks Right," "When Love Feels Right," and "When Love Deceives." After your departure, I officially began the work. When Love Ameliorates is the last play in this 3-part series. I have completed the charge. I hope that you are proud of the work I've done.
So, to my dearest mentor and friend, Rest in Peace. Know that the work you started is continuing, and that you will always be sincerely loved, appreciated, and missed.
