From SLOC President
Welcome back to the theater!
After three years since our last show (Music Man 2019), we are excited to be back and to be performing the Gilbert & Sullivan favorite- The Pirates of Penzance- with our own twist.
Welcome to 1920's Coney Island. While continuing to navigate through Covid, we have had a lot of fun and put in countless hours to bring this show to the stage. We are grateful for the hard work and support of our cast, crew, orchestra, and, our fabulous production team; we think they are all the bees knees. We appreciate your support to keep our productions affordable.
Thank you and enjoy the show!
Debbie Crane, SLOC president
History of SLOC
The Savoyard Light Opera Company has roots reaching back to 1971 in Maynard MA, when a group of Maynard townspeople produced H.M.S. Pinafore as part of that town’s centennial celebration. In 1983, the Board changed the name from the Maynard Savoyards to the Savoyard Light Opera Company, recognizing that they derived their players and audiences not only from the Maynard area but also from all of eastern Massachusetts. In 1988 SLOC moved it's performances to Carlisle, MA, & in addition to performing the works of Gilbert & Sullivan, we have presented other classic musicals chosen because of their wit and musicality.
