All work should be a reflection of the time in which it’s created, and this work is no exception. In a time when the fabric of our theatrical practices has been so disrupted, to me, this show offers us a window into the act of perseverance. I’m so proud of the students and creatives who have risen to the challenge of making this work, despite the perceived obstacles of the technology and circumstance. We are excited continue to challenge and explore the possibilities of musical theatre performance in a digital space. This musical was fully rehearsed and performed online and included the collaboration of many artists and performers as we test the boundaries of this medium. I believe the limits put upon this work by its context in time have allowed for so much discovery, reflection, and growth on behalf of all the artists, these fierce makers. This is a triumph. I hope the ways in which this show feels different than what we’re accustomed to give way to your curiosity as they have to mine.
