    Chanel is ecstatic to make her SYT directing debut. Chanel has performed on stages across the country. Her favorite roles include: Effie in Dream Girls, Kala in Tarzan, Joanne in Rent, and Ruth in A Raisin in the Sun.


    Chanel’s directorial debut was nearly ten years ago with the Soul of Broadway performance troupe. She has since had the pleasure of directing the youth at Arizona Broadway Theatre, The Phoenix Theatre Co., Fort Peck Summer Theatre, and Free Arts for Abused Children. Chanel was featured as one of the female directors to watch during Phoenix Theater’s New Works festival in 2018.


    Recently, she directed For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide in conjunction with local venue the Nash. Chanel also directed the Benefit Concert UNITE on behalf of The Phoenix Theatre Co. In 2019, she produced The Alexander Project, a touring Hamilton revue in conjunction with Live Nation, and is a supporting vocalist in the local band Phoenix Afro Beat Orchestra.

  • Braxton Carhart (Soccer Coaching)

    Braxton has 17 years of experience playing soccer. She has played at the collegiate level here in Arizona. Now, she is an assistant coach at the collegiate level. In addition to coaching soccer, Braxton is a Math Teacher at Mountain Ridge High School.

  • Brenda Goodenberger (Hair & Makeup Designer)

    Brenda is an ariZoni winning director, and ariZoni, AYAA and NYA winning/nominated make up/hair designer. Brenda has worked in the cosmetics field for over 25 years, and is thrilled to be on the Spotlight team! She directs TW KidsAlive, in addition to being a versatile singer, dancer, and director in theatres across the valley.

  • Vicki Grossman (Properties Artisan)

    Vicki is a full-time veterinary technician, a part time reseller on Poshmark and a six-time ariZoni winner for props at SYT. Shout out to this amazing Wolf pack (cast, crew and designers) who did not let Ms. Rona get them down!
