Stepping Stone Community Theater

 Stepping Stone Community Theater

Stepping Stone Community Theater is an inclusive theater company where individuals with varying physical, emotional and learning abilities have the experience of performing in a full-scale theatrical production, while partnered alongside actors from the community.

Stepping Stone Community Theater was founded in 1996, when the mother of a young man with disabilities became concerned that she was unable to find a program or art organization that could accommodate her son's desire to participate in the performing arts. She approached Mary Pantano, a theater art professional, and together they formed Stepping Stone Community Theater. Their first play, Cinderella Wore Combat Boots, was performed at a small VFW hall for an excited audience of 45 people. The show was a complete success and laid the foundation for the Stepping Stone Community Theateras we know it today.

Fast forward 30 years to this hidden gem right in the heart of Whitinsville, that continues to bring high quality theater to the community for both disabled and non-disabled participants, along with the amazing support staff and volunteers. The performances have now been moved to the Doherty High School located in Worcester. The growing continues....
