I had a fantastic time directing this show, and making all the friends that came with it. I would like to thank all my wonderful actors, producers, SLATE members, and Ms. Maggio for helping him make this show a reality. I also want to thank all the members of chorus, dance crews, and band for bringing an unspeakable energy to the show. Art and Tech were as reliable and talented as always, under the supervision of the wonderful Ms. Bernstein. Your vision and dedication lets me sleep easy at night. And finally, I would like to thank my two assistant directors, Livia and Dennis, for reminding me what it is I love about directing and the STC every single day. Both of you have an incredible prowess for directing at 14 years old, and that leaves me so excited to see what happens in years to come. I expect great things.

I am thrilled to be directing my first show at STC. It has been a blast meeting everyone and, of course, putting together West Side Story. I want to thank everyone who has worked on the show specifically the producers,the whole cast, Ms. Maggio, and of course my amazing co-directors Dennis and Clay. It has been a wonderful experience and I hope everyone enjoys the show!

My name is Dennis and I am so thrilled to be directing my first Stuyvesant Musical! I really want to give all my thanks to the crews for working so hard and efficiently on this fascinating performance! I always had an intense passion for theatre and I was OBSESSED with West Side Story in my younger years. Proves I had taste as a fourth grader. Enjoy the show!
Mariya Gedrich

as Maria

Mariya Gedrich is a sophomore, and this is her first year with the STC. Her extensive acting experience includes roles such as "mother of a minor character" in the third grade. Being a part of West Side Story was a wonderful experience, and she hopes that you will enjoy it as much as she enjoys the similarity between her and her character's name.
