    Melissa received her BA in theatre performance from Otterbein University. Her credits include theatrical, commercial, and network television performances, print work, industrials, independent film projects, teaching, directing, and authoring a children's book. Some of her favorite creative works include include: Sleeper (Rachael) with AVLT, Les Miserables (Fantine) with Gallery Players, Everybody's Girl and My Summers of Love (Cabaret performances) at Short North Stage, and My Sister Has Two Houses (a children's book normalizing shared parenting time). When not on stage, you can find Melissa spending time with her family, meditating, spending time in nature, and getting into "good trouble."     Ryan has been a nationwide actor, director, and theatre educator for over two decades. Favorite acting credits: Albin in La Cage Aux Folles, the titular role in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Jamie in The Last Five Years, and originating the role of Papa Bear in both the Off-Broadway and first national tour of Berenstain Bears Live! Favorite regional directing credits: Hedwig and the Angry Inch, CATS, Newsies, James and the Giant Peach, 9 to 5, 13, Sweeney Todd, RENT, The Producers, Once On This Island, Meet Me in St. Louis and Little Shop of Horrors. He served as Associate Director for the Off-Broadway & National Tour production of Berenstain Bears Live!, and recently as Assistant Director for Sister Act and Disney’s The Little Mermaid at Theatre Under The Stars. Ryan is a 2016 recipient of the Freddie G. Teaching Award from MTI's CEO/President Freddie Gershon, and is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
