SYNOPSISACT 1 - THE MARKET PLACE. Our story begins hundreds of years ago, in a busy marketplace in a Kingdom in Asia Minor. Aisha, a beautiful girl from a small village, comes to the marketplace and dances with her sisters. Prince Faruch, who has known Aisha since they were children, sees her dancing. He is enchanted by her beauty, now that she has become a young woman. Later, the prince celebrates his birthday. His mother, Queen Ratiga, tells him it is time for him to take a bride. The Prince tells her of his love for Aisha, the poor village girl. The Queen is dismayed and forbids him from marrying Aisha; he must choose one of the Princesses (Beauties) from the surrounding kingdoms. Faruch and Aisha are heartbroken. Queen Rafiga orders her advisor, The Vizier, to destroy Faruch's love for Aisha. The Vizier comes up with a plan.ACT 2 - THE BEAUTIES. Everyone in the palace tries to calm the Queen but she remains steadfast; the Prince must marry a Princess. To keep peace in the palace, the Vizier offers a compromise that satisfies both the Queen and her son. He arranges for six Beauties from other kingdoms and Aisha to dance for the Prince. All of them will be unrecognizable, as the Vizier has cast a spell and they are disguised as mere shadows of themselves. If Faruch is able to find Aisha amidst the other dancers, everyone agrees it can only be through his true love for her. Whichever Beauty he selects, Faruch will marry at the wedding celebration that night. Will true love prevail?
