Director's Note

On The Town is an exhilarating musical based on famed choreographer Jerome Robbins' work adapted for the stage by the esteemed Betty Comden and Adolph (Singing in the Rain) and music by Lenoard Bernstein (West Side Story).

It is the tale of three young sailors on leave for 24 hours in New York City. The boys have different goals for their one-day adventure: to see the city, to find love, to have fun; all these goals are met in some jumbled way as the city works for and against them to bring a high energy day to remember--even if those memories end in handcuffs!

This show’s high-energy dancing, large cast, multiple sets, beautiful costumes and very complicated music have made this one of the most challenging shows to produce and also one of the most rewarding.  The caliber of talent we have showcased with this production will exceed any expectations audiences may have about high school productions.

With such memorable songs as "Come Up to My Place" and "New York, New York", On The Town is a musical that will leave a tune in your head and a beat in your feet.
