Once on This Island - December 04 - December 07, 2025

William Howard Taft High School

 End Notes

Thank you so much for coming out to see Once on This Island! In this show, you’ll see a dynamic and joyous collaboration from nearly 90 incredible students and staff from Taft Theatre, with behind-the-scenes contributions from a collective of artists here in San Antonio. When you see shows like this, you’re not just supporting the Raider community here at Taft, but live theatre and the arts in our beloved city!

This show has truly been a labor of love for all involved. Every rehearsal and all the time spent working on the show, on top of their school commitments, has led to this moment. I also know our students don’t stand alone; their families are a huge part of making something this big come together. You are appreciated!

Thank you to Rebekah Bulen for being my Musical Theatre better half! I can’t believe you agreed to co-teach the musical theatre classes with me, I am so blessed to work with you! To Esther Burton, my brilliant and supportive tech director, you’ve outdone yourself with this set and overall design. Truly sublime. On a personal note, I am grateful for our friendship and mutual support. To Charlie Rodriguez, my creative counterpart, I cannot thank you enough for seeing, believing and contributing to the vision. You are a wonderful human being and you always SLAY! To Eric Mota, what a blessing to work with an old friend! Your choreography is beautiful and dynamic. I am so blessed to work with such a talented artist.

And thank you to our incredible Taft Theatre Company Support Board. Without you we would be hungry, cranky, disorganized and unprepared! Thank you for making me laugh, keeping on my toes and for supporting me in so many ways.

And to our Seniors, thank you for all your hard work and dedication to this department and the production. I am so proud of each of you and know that you will all go on to great things in the future! I am so proud of you, but my heart hurts to know that this is your last Fall Musical with me!

Lastly, thank you to my family. My parents, who have always believed in me. Walter and Henry for being excited about what I do and wanting to be a part of it. Including helping hang lights and paint the set. Jon, you are my soft place to land and my forever champion, I couldn’t do this without your unwavering support!
