Welcome to our production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying!
This show is a joyful high-wire act — a razor-sharp satire of corporate ambition wrapped in big laughs, catchy tunes, and dazzling dance numbers. Beneath the comedy lies a timeless message: success isn’t just about climbing the ladder, it’s about connection, adaptability, and the people you meet along the way.
From our first rehearsal, I asked this cast to approach the show with three guiding ideas: pace, punch, and playfulness. Pace — because farce lives in quick thinking and quick feet. Punch — because every joke, lyric, and dance step should land with clarity and impact. And playfulness — because this show thrives when we embrace the ridiculous, exaggerate the quirks, and find joy in the absurdity of the workplace.
The result is a company that works together like a well-oiled (and occasionally delightfully squeaky) machine. These performers have thrown themselves into bold characters, big choices, and even bigger dance breaks — all while building an environment backstage that is just as supportive and collaborative as the one we hope you’ll see on stage.
A heartfelt thank you to Young Actors’ Theatre, Cuyamaca College, our tireless volunteers, and my phenomenal creative and production team. You’ve kept this machine running with skill, patience, and humor — and I couldn’t have asked for better collaborators.
Now sit back, enjoy the ride, and get ready to laugh, tap your toes, and maybe even hum along. After all, success in business — and in theatre — is best enjoyed together.
Thank you for joining us. We hope you laugh loudly, clap enthusiastically, and maybe leave the theatre humming “Brotherhood of Man” — with just a little extra spring in your step.
