Note from the Director
This production marks the 60th play I have directed for the stage at Aberdeen Central High School. The Music Man holds a special place in my heart. Mr. Thomas F. Kelly was my drama director in high school here back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. When I returned to Aberdeen from college, he directed me in my first ACT production: The Music Man.
Mr. Kelly died unexpectedly in the spring of 2004 and the following year, this theatre was dedicated in his name. For the first musical production in the newly named Thomas F. Kelly Theatre, I selected The Music Man. Mr. Kelly's son Kevin, a senior at the time, was cast in the lead role of Harold Hill. When it came time to mark my 60th production, I felt it just had to be The Music Man. The cast and crew have been working very hard to bring this grand old musical to life. I really hope you enjoy your night in River City. Thank you for coming out and supporting the arts at CHS.
