WOMEN OF CHARACTER WILL BE PERFORMED WITHOUT AN INTERMISSON
***The Women of Character will be available after the show for autographs and a "Meet and Greet." Please join us!***
The intent of Women of Character is to present these forty-four historical women in a mindful and appropriate manner true to history so that modern audiences can hear diverse voices and understand their impact on history and on the present.
The City of New Orleans is a continuation of an indigenous trade hub on the Mississippi River, known for thousands of years as Bulbancha, a Choctaw term meaning "place of many tongues." Native peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial, and the resilient voices of Native Americans remain an insperable part of our local culture. Their identities are inextricably connected to this place. With gratitude and honor, the Women of Character pay tribute to the original inhabitants of this land.
