One year ago, I had the pleasure of hearing "My Grand Plan" performed by Ms. Brittany's student, Rylee, at recital and I was blown away by not only the performer but the lyrics, music, and message that the song was putting out to the community. Flashforward a week later, I had already spoken to Brittany about this incredible musical and we made plans to make it happen. The story is just as easy to fall in love with as the music which is why I'm so pleased to present "The Lighting Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical" to you today.
I am extremely grateful for the teens that came out ot audition for this show. They are true fans of this story and their passion for the music and characters will be evident in their performances. To be able to have a group that can support and motivate each other as much as this group has been a wonderful experience.
Of course, it takes a village and I have so many people to think for this one:
Thank you, Brittany Paige McMains, for your guidence and mentorship this past year. You should be extremely proud of the work and gifts you have provided for this cast and all your students. Your passion and love the arts and these kids shines in these performances.
Thank you, Melissa Dupont, for allowing me to bounce ideas off of you no matter how crazy they may seem and just nodding and saying, "yes, we can try that" to them. You leave a very special mark everywhere you go in this industry and I'm so grateful to get to be a part of your journey.
Jessica Kuehl, you are too good to me and I am forever grateful for your dedication and how much you take off my plate and elevate the looks of these performers. Thank you for allowing us once again to utilize your talents.
Also thank you to the following for their tremendous ongoing support in this production: Josh Pearrow, Jeff Dupont, Jeff Cummins, Cathy Sperry, Chenique Murphy, Warlord Clothing Company, La Sierra High School, Poly High School, The Box, the Act Out Tech Team, the cast of "The Lightning Thief Musical", the parents, and the amazing people who created this musical Joe Tracz, Rob Rokicki, Rick Riordan.
