Welcome to our final show of the season, LITTLE WOMEN. This is one of my favorites stories, and I, along with this talented cast and crew, am very proud to share it with you.
I believe that progress is essential. This season, we moved to our new location, utilized PDF scripts for the first time, and estalbished an online partner for ticket sales. I view these as major steps for our organization.
This production marks the third time we have had a guest director, and the first time a guest director has handled an AfterSchool Players production. It was hard for me to "let it go" but you made the process bearable! Huuge thanks to Stacy Anderson for her time, commitment, and vision. I value your friendship as well as your talent and look forward to many future collaborations.
This vision of an arts center for young artists came about when one of my children left the nest for college. I suppose I needed an outlet to deal with the proud (and sometimes teaful) realization that our lives were changing. Since then, another bird has left the nest, leaving me with more time to focus on this creation that I hope will be my life's legacy. I feel driven and led to work with young people, to improve their talents and God-given abilities, and to have some fun in the process.
Special thanks to Ellen Licitra, our lighting expert extraordinaire, who never ceases to amaze me with how good she can make us look, to the New Castle Playhouse for letting us raid your costume shop, to this talented cast of wonderful people, to our crew (especially the Bezdek family) for volunterring your time and talent, my family for their unconditional love and support, and finally to you, our audience, for whom we do all good things in hopes that you will enjoy and appreciate them.
As Marmee says, "...you're terribly kind. Thank you. Thank you all so very much." I couldn't have said it better.
