Our Dear Elephant Bird
When looking for ideas on how to start this section, I came across a charachter analysis of the elephant bird in the book, Horton Hatches an Egg. It reads:
"The elephant-bird is a stand-in for anyone or anything that needs love, nurturing, and protection. Cute from its trunk to its wings, this little guy suggests that when someone or something is cared for, that someone or something thrives. The elephant-bird is love. It's happiness. It's companionship."
I can't think of a better description of Anna Gille, our elephant bird. Anna is currently going through her own difficult journey right now and can't perform the show with us. I didn't want to replace her, it didn't feel right. Instead we have 3 of Anna's friends performing the role in her honor.
