Little Shop of Horrors - April 22 - April 25, 2021

Alton High School

 Synopsis

DON'T FEED THE PLANTS!

The action opens in Mushnik’s Flower Shop on Skid Row. Here we meet Mushnik’s two employees, Seymour Krelborn and Audrey. Mushnik is just about to close the shop for good when Seymour brings him an interesting and unusual plant that he bought from an old Chinese Man during a total eclipse of the sun.

The plant thrives and grows every time Seymour feeds it blood from one of his fingers. Soon Seymour is not able to keep up with the demand as the plant begins to grow bigger and bigger. FEED ME, Seymour demands the plant.

Audrey II schemes to convince Seymour to murder people in order to feed his need for blood. As the body count grows so does Seymour’s fame and fortune. Through many twists and turns in the plot, Audrey II ends up devouring all of the major characters in the story leaving only itself to dominate the world.

Special Thanks

It has been a thrill for me to direct this fun, crazy show! I couldn't have asked for a better cast and crew. I want to thank the parents of our cast and crew for their support. I want to give a special thank you to Superintendent Kristie Baumgartner and the Alton Schools for the tremendous support we continue to receive.

Special Thanks also goes to Megan Fairless of MegyMe productions for filming, editing and posting the show online for our friends and families to view. This is a first for our AHS productions and we look forward to this becoming a new tradition.

Our Audrey ii puppets were designed and built by Alice Reif and Scott Dutko for the Alton Middle School production in the Fall of 2019. This was a huge contribution to our show and we are so appreciative. It's so great to have community members who are willing to share their talents with us. Theatre truly is a place where like minded people can create and collaborate to bring excellence to our program.

Our thanks to Dan Thornton of Thornton Photography for the still photos of the cast and creating the show posters featured in the display window in the entry.
