Jason Sluyter (Director/Vocal Director)
Mr. S is the Vocal Music and Drama teacher at Ambassador. He has worked in educational theatre for over 20 years as a producer, director, vocal director, stage manager, conductor, and lighting designer. He has done a combination of all of the above for such shows as Guys and Dolls, Beauty and the Beast, Annie, Into the Woods, Les Misérables, Godspell, Shrek, Seussical, High School Musical, Camp Rock, Little Shop of Horrors, 13, and Bring It On, to name a few. As an actor, he has performed in such shows as: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Pseudolus), Guys and Dolls (Benny Southstreet), Into the Woods (Baker), Pippin (Headless Man), Little Shop of Horrors (Orin Scrivello, D.D.S.), The Importance of Being Earnest (Jack), and concert versions of Titanic, Ragtime, and Sweeney Todd. He would like to thank Joel for always bringing fun and energy to their productions. Jason sends all his love to Jacey, Dashiell, and his ever-supportive wife, Lesley!
Joel Sluyter (Choreographer)
Joel is thrilled to be choreographing Anastasia. Spreading the passion and joy of creativity with students is more than he can be thankful for. Joel trained at New York University as a dance performance major through Tisch School of the Arts. He is currently the Conservatory Director at the Palos Verdes Performing Arts. He has been choreographing dance for over 20 years and has taught at many high schools and universities throughout the country. His work has won Grand Championships at Show Choir competitions and first place finishes at dance competitions. A few of his favorite shows to have choreographed include Mamma Mia, Grease, Shrek, Fame, Legally Blonde, Camp Rock, West Side Story, and High School Musical. He would like to thank Jason for his passion and dedication to making a fantastic show. He also thanks his beautiful wife, Candice for her love and support, his awesome kids, Triniti and Caden, and the cast for being eager to try new things!
