I would be remiss in my duties if I did not write about this wonderful production. The Addams Family... the images when I was a young child brought to life in the form of Pugsley, Wednesday, Morticia, Gomez and the rest of the Addams Family - right here at the Amelia Earhart Playhouse. What a wonderful treat this has been, to work so closely with talented actors, dancers, musicians, stage crew, carpenters, directors, sound technicians and many, many more. Your contributions have been tremendous. Oh by the way... as short cropped as my hair is, I was about to pull it out!!! This musical was HARD! ADAMMS FAMILY??! KIM what were we thinking??!
All kidding aside, I loved helping this production. What a truly wonderful experience this is. We have a saying at the AEP, two words.... "GET IT". These two words simply mean go out and do the impossible. We spent literally hours trying to figure out what production we were going do for this year's Tournament of Plays. Addams Family was not even on the top of the list, but I am so glad we did this play. For proffessional reasons and personal (I won't begin to get into that...pfff). For proffessional reason, this play has it all, great music, great action, comedy, love, torture, all rolled into two hours. Sorry stage managers to do this to you, but hey, GET IT.
Joe Bednash, You are SUPERMAN!!! Nuff' said. To the Active Duty Military involved with this production. Hats off to you. Not only are you all incredibly busy defending the Nation, you all managed to find time to act, build, sing in our little production. Simply Amazing! To all of the actors, actresses, musicians, dancers, stage crew - this production is you. You are this production. Every line, every note, every song. You all dedicated yourself to the success of this production. Thank you for entertaining us. Last but not least. To Kimberly, my friend, my co-worker, my sis, thank you for your vision. It is marvelous! The love, dedication in which you work has always been inspirational.
Respectfully,
Kevin Ringgold
As the Producer and Wiesbaden Entertainment Director, my goal is to find, develop and produce the highest quality of live theatre entertainment for our community. The Addams Family is a new musical comedy which I was not very familiar with. It has now become one of my favorite musicals thanks to our amazing AEP production team! The AEP would not exist without the support of volunteers. Active duty, family members, civilians, local nationals, individuals and families all contribute to make this a true community theatre! I am forever grateful and thrilled every day to be able to work with such dedicated and passionate people in a thriving theatre environment.
The Medina family is an integral part of our AEP family. I would like to especially recognize and thank them for their loving devotion. I would like to thank Kevin Ringgold for his support and assistance. Together with many dedicated volunteers, we renovated this theatre in four months all the while, planning and producing shows.
Wiesbaden DPW, Joe Bednash, Dan Carr and Vic Phillipson were also responsible for the successful renovation of the theatre. Special thanks to Wiesbaden ACS, Wiesbaden Fitness Center, AFN, FMWR Marketing, Wiesbaden Entertainment Center, Cappuccino Casino, Wiesbaden Arts and Crafts, Army Corps of Engineers, Wiesbaden High School Drama Department and Wiesbaden Spouses Club for their support.
I am forever appreciative of my loving husband, SFC Dan Carr, who has given me such an adventurous life that has led us to this wonderful opportunity. He has put too many hours to count into this theatre and has recently been recognized by the USAG Wiesbaden Commander for his work.
Last but not least, everything I am or will ever be is because of my mother, my beautiful daughters and my sister.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Carr
