"The secret of happiness is here..."

What a journey this has been. When we first came to Anna Messer with the idea of putting on a musical in Trilith, we had no idea what that was going to look like. Gavin and I knew the show we wanted to do, a two person muscial called Daddy Long Legs. As a self proclaimed walking musical theatre encyclopedia, I was ashamed that I had not heard of this show before we started rehearsals. I quickly fell in love with the music, the characters and the charm of Daddy Long Legs.

I see a lot of myself in Jerusha, and this character has been an absolute blast to play. Gavin took on the role of Jervis Pendleton fearlessly from the very first rehearsal, and he has been a wonderful leader throughout this entire process.

Gavin and I have worked tirelessly over the past few months learning what it takes to fully produce, direct and star in a musical...all at once. As well as gathering props, figuring out what our set was going to look like, and finding the perfect costumes. It was a lot, but it has been the most rewarding experience we could have ever asked for.

When we first moved to Trilith, we immediately saw that live theatre was missing from the community, and we knew we wanted to help be a small part in bringing live theatre to the amazing, creative community that is Trilith. Daddy Long Legs has been the most perfect way to do just that.

This production would not be possible without the help of Anna Messer and Trilith. Thank you, Anna, for being on board from day one and helping us figure out what this was going to look like. (And for the storage space!)

Special thanks to Brittany Wyatt for providing most of the props you see on the stage. You truly helped our vision solidify and we can't thank you enough.

Thank you to our families that traveled to see us perform. We love you so much. And we are so happy to perform for you again.

And lastly, special thanks to Brittany Faith Gilbert for being an amazing stage manager/music operator. Thank you for diving headfirst into this with us and for being fearless and just the most amazing friend. We are so thankful for you, and this could not have happened without you.

We hope you enjoy the show!
