Charles Santoro (Music Director) is a professional pianist, music director, conductor, and arranger. He has worked for various productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway, Mayo Performing Arts Center, at the Tony Award-winning Paper Mill Playhouse, as well as at various regional productions. Currently, Santoro is working on Mrs. Doubtfire the Musical coming back to Broadway this fall and is American Idol’s Kimberley Locke’s music director for her upcoming show. Recently, he was the Associate Music Director for the premiere of Clueless the Musical as well as worked on Fiddler on the Roof - in Yiddish directed by Tony Award winner Joel Grey. Including Broadway’s School of Rock, he also played rehearsals for Broadway’s Matilda, Matilda: Acrobat National Tour and BCEFA 25th-28th Gyspy Awards. Off-Broadway credits include Zapata! The Musical, Disenchanted! The Musical and Silence! The Musical. Paper Mill Playhouse: New Voices, Show Choir and Theatre on Tour (Music Director). MPAC (MD/Conductor): West Side Story, Shrek, Grease, Mary Poppins (Key 1) and Les Misérables (Key 2). Other Music Director credits include: Once, Chaplin, Big Fish, American Idiot, Cabaret, A Christmas Story, Spring Awakening, A Chorus Line and Next to Normal - just to name a few. He is a graduate of William Paterson University where he studied music education with a concentration in classical piano and voice. Charles has arranged and accompanied artists such as Laura Benanti, Christiane Noll, Kerry Butler, Christine Pedi, Donna Vivino, Telly Leung, Rob McClure, Will Roland, Alice Ripley, Jennifer Damiano and Laura Osnes - among many others. He is the recipient of a few awards, including Best Orchestra and took home the 2018 Paper Mill Playhouse’s Rising Star award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction.
