Ghosts - January 30 - February 15, 2015

Aux Dog Theatre Nob Hill

 End Notes

GHOSTS is as relevant today as it was controversial when first produced in the 1880's. Today, however, instead of causing protests in the streets, this show creates a riot within the self, asking us to confront the ghosts that are trying to run our lives today. Although we have made giant steps forward in understanding how sexually transmitted diseases are spread, the recent AIDS crisis revealed our continuing inability to get past our phobias and negative stereotypes and our proclivity to turn a blind eye to unfortunate truths about our selves and our loved ones that haunt our lives to this day. Giving our production a contemporary setting, Ibsen's timeless truths are revealed in the world around us.

I must thank the courageous Victoria Liberatori and equally courageous cast for coming on this journey with me. This cast has selflessly given their talents and time to enter the scary story world. I am eternally grateful that Vicki and the Aux Dog Theatre Company have given me my first directing slot in Albuquerque. I love the bravery I find here in New Mexico!
