FROM THE PRODUCERS
When we first started on this wild journey into Romeo & Juliet, we both agreed we wanted to reimagine Shakespeare's most famous love story with the emphasis on "love." This has truly been a labor of everything that goes into that powerful four-letter word: Passion, affection, pain, effort, tenderness, frustration, exhaustion, yearning, and finally transcendent happiness. To see our vision now come to fruition is astounding. We feel so lucky to share this experience with all of you.
Throughout this process, we have been blessed with a brilliant director, Talley Murphy, giftedly insightful and wise beyond her years. We are forever grateful that she could shape this project with us, executing our concept into the arresting stage pictures you are about to watch.
We were also privileged to find the perfect actors for these complex roles. It would take a thousand pages to express how much we adore our cast, but it goes without saying they mean the world to us. We could not have done this without their incredible commitment to the show.
Eternal gratitude to our parents, our angels on Earth. You believed in us when all we had were crazy ideas. You put your faith in our ability to pull through in hard times. You have been there for us every step of the way, even when it seemed like the going might be too rough for us to continue. And though this project is out of your field of expertise, you were willing to help in any way you could. Thank you to our amazing Mamas and Daddies for giving us wings to fly to the stars. We love you exiquisitely - infinitely.
This production is also specially dedicated to the late Irma Sandrey, an inspiring artist and teacher, who gave Kalista the courage to play Juliet. The first time she worked on this role, it was the balcony scene, performed on Irma's stage. Irma, you are sorely missed. But we hope you are watching us from above.
With love to all,
Kalista Tazlin and Jaime Lubin

PS. We would be nowhere without each other. Our partnership is the stuff of dreams. There's only one person who could take on the herculean efforts of this production, and that's our leading lady. Kalista has put more blood, sweat, and tears into this than anyone could imagine. Thank you to my sweet sister for showing me how to change the course of one's life, and for taking me along on this crazy ride.
