A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

My goal with Shrek – and all my past shows – is to transport the audience to another world...from the snowy chill in Narnia to the soda shop day dream in Grease to the enchanted and magical world of Oz and to the sword fighting lost boys and pirates in Neverland. This year has been just as exciting as we get to visit the land of Far Far Away!

I could not accomplish this all on my own. I have an incredibly talented support team consisting of Larry Gantt, Dina Chrysler, Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerly (AKA Papa and Granny), Martin Murphy, Jeff and Michele Neely, Robert Koury, Katrina Flores, Katrina Vilchis-Montoya, Brenda Wilson, Greg Walker, Mario Valle, Brandi and Tony Sanchez, Linda Gantt, and all the parent volunteers who have spent many hours helping with set, sewing, running lines with a cast member, selling ads, selling tickets, and bringing their students to or picking them up from rehearsal without complaint. I would love to list them all by name and all they have done, but there is no way to include everything without this Playbill turning into the size of a novel.

Thank you to Superintendent Tanya Anderson, Assistant Superintendent Todd Smith, the Azle ISD School Board, Mr. Randy Cobb, Mr. Fursey Gotuaco, and Ms. Teresa Moore for your continued support and knowing that fine arts play such an important role in a students overall development…and for allowing me to put on bigger and better productions each year.

I would also like to express my gratitude to all the students who have put in a tremendous amount of effort behind the scenes and on stage.

Thank you to my Drama Boosters who organized the shirt orders, brought food during the dinners of Tech Week, brought me sweet tea and candy corn in times of need (sanity purposes), gathered bios and organized pictures for the Playbill, donated items for concessions and all the other behind the scenes things that help make the experience of patrons that much better.

To my husband, Jeremy, and our three beautiful children: Brianna, Dylan, and Alyssa. Thank you for your continued love, support, and family dinners. You are my life and my blessings.

And last but not least, I would like to thank you – the patron – for coming to see the show. All the hard work listed above would be in vain if we did not have an audience.

I truly hope you enjoy the show!
