Bye Bye Birdie is a witty, hilarious, and honest look at the generational differences between adults and teens. It is an all-too-true perspective on how Americans idolize celebrities. And it also exposes the trouble a mama's boy can get into when he's too scared to "you know what or get off the pot."
It has been a great blessing to me to direct this show for two main reasons. First, because it was written with such an honest and humorous perspective of a very specific time in our country’s history that it literally transports you to that time and place.
Second, this show makes me laugh, and to put icing on the cake this cast makes me laugh too! This cast and production team are a blessing to me. I love these people. We have been able to build beautiful friendships through this wonderful artistic process and I'm so very grateful for their hard work and talents.
Bye Bye Birdie paints an honest picture of relationships between colorful characters that you will not soon forget. The late 1950s were a special time in history as the music began to transform not only the music scene but society as well. So sit back and relax as we take you back to a simpler time when people laughed at jokes and now you can too!
