RUMPELSTILTSKIN, Private Eye - April 28 - April 30, 2016

Black Box Theatre, A Colorado Nonprofit Corporation

 End Notes

To the Audience....

Thanks so much for joining us at the Black Box for today's performance. When it's done well, Theatre is a very special thing. It allows the performer and the observer to connect over an exchange of energy that doesn't occur on the silver screen. We're telling a story, and the live performers, with their finely nuanced portrayal of emotions - joy, frustration, admiration, rage - allow you, the audience, to become better in tune with your own feelings, fears and joys. This is how we know that on the inside, we are all the same, with the same hurts, the same joys, the same loneliness, the same humanity. This is how we connect as a community that reacts to each other with love and respect.

We have been especially pleased to work on Rumpelstiltskin, Private Eye, a script that is the loving handiwork of local Colorado Springs playwright Todd Wallinger. Todd started with a small group of playwrights and actors getting together once a month to write, read, and critique plays. He is now a published, award-winning playwright. We are proud to say that this is Todd's third production to appear on the Black Box stage. We wish him continued success!

Sadly, Black Box closes its doors on May 31st. We have loved every moment here.

(Well, maybe not the moment when an ill patron threw up on the floor, or all the many moments the toilets flooded. Ah, memories!) We will remember you, dear audience, as we hope you remember us.

Many of us will be continuing in theatre locally, and we hope you will look for us on - and behind -  the stage. Without you, we couldn't do what we do.

Gratefully,

Nancy Holaday, Producer & Executive Director

Steve Perkins, Director & Fight Choerographer

Kitty Robbins, Technical Director

Evan Danforth, Lead Technician

Kylie Hartnett, Resident Stage Manager
