The Lightning Thief - March 15 - March 16, 2024

Bogota Jr/Sr High School

  Director's Note

If you are a fan of the Rick Riordan Percy Jackson series, than this show should be right up your alley! The musical version of "The Lightning Thief" came out of a fan base that wanted a more "true to the book" version of Percy's story, instead of the first movies that were created.

Percy, a young teenage boy, discovers why he is "different". He has always know this, afterall he has been kicked out of five schools already for one reason or another. He never dreamed, though, that he is a demi-god; half mortal, half god. He discovers that all of the Greek mythology he learned about in school is real and he is suddenly transported to a special camp to protect him from the evil creatures pursuing him. But why are they after him? Who is his father, anyway? How can he survive this terrifying new reality? Join Percy, Annabeth and Grover on their quest to stop a war between the gods!

This is a fun, fast-paced, toe-tapping, rock music re-telling of the beloved young adult novel. You will encounter all kinds of Greek mythological creatures tonight, and battles will ensue with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.
