A NOTE FROM PAM AND GORDON

Welcome to the 25th Anniversary Season of the Broadway Teachers Workshop!
We are so proud of the program that the BTW has become over the years, presenting new and exciting master classes and workshops while also providing access to some of the best and most memorable Broadway shows in history. Twenty-five years ago, in that summer of 2000, we gathered fifty teachers in a small studio down near New York University. Contact had just won the Tony for Best Musical, Y2K was — thankfully — in the rearview mirror, and the first iPhone still seven years in the future! Today, we now host close to 1000 teachers from around the globe each July in an effort to give our participants information, resources, and renewed energy to return to their students and productions with fresh ideas and a creative spirit.
It has been a privilege to meet so many wonderful theatre teachers over the years, and the opportunity to hear about your productions, your challenges, and (yes!) your victories has invigorated us to craft our sessions to meet your needs and to inspire you. We’ve hosted the novice teacher tasked with leading her school's Drama Club for the first time with no experience in production, and we’ve watched the more seasoned of you celebrate your retirement as theatre leaders of your schools and community groups. We’re happy to say that some of those retirees return each summer just to feel the BTW spark that ignites so many of you in your endeavors.
Over the years, we’ve presented you with an astounding array of theatre artists and Broadway professionals that have frequently recognized the importance and influence of teachers in their journeys. From Stephen Sondheim to Chita Rivera, from Harvey Fierstein to Lin-Manuel Miranda, we have provided you with some of the brightest stars the Broadway community has to offer, and we’re excited to continue that excellence in programming in the years to come.
So please enjoy this 25th Anniversary in the same spirit of connection with which we have created it. Thank you, as always, for your patronage and support.
Sincerely,

Pam Pariseau & Gordon Greenberg
