Disney's Mulan JR. - November 02 - November 04, 2017

Brownsburg Middle School Choirs

 End Notes

From the Choir Directors . . .

Mrs. Fowler

This year's production is the culmination of hours of work by over 290 students, an army of parent volunteers, and an absolutely amazing team of directors.  Our students auditioned and interviewed for their onstage and backstage roles.  Mrs. Isaacs, Mrs. Varvel, and Miss Allison have brought expertise and creativity that supports our students to success in amazing ways.  I am blessed beyond measure to work with such superstars.

As we reflect on Mulan's journey through expectations, identity, and honor, we found ourselves trying new approaches to this production, stretching ourselves out of our comfort zones, and encouraging students to do the same.  It is my prayer that our students know that they are incredibly treasured, and that they are encouraged to risk that next step in their journey.  We are daily surrounded by amazing students who surprise themselves - and us - in what they accomplish and the differences they  make in their world.  I'm so thankful for that privilege.

Thank you to my amazing husband, Chris, and my daughters, Julianne and Emma, for your patience and time.  You've moved and fixed things, shopped, listened to stories and music, shared ideas, and dealt with a crazy schedule for weeks on end.  Your support and love means the world to me.

As you experience Mulan Jr with us, I hope you are encouraged, as well, in your own journey.  We celebrate the unique gifts in each one of us, and are eager to share this message with you through our production.  Thank you for being here with us.  Enjoy the show!

Mrs. Varvel

I am so proud to be a part of this production! The students have worked so hard!  Witnessing the students and families from both East and West come together to put on this show has been a treasure.  I hope that our students and audience are reminded that not everything is "Written in Stone" and we can change how we see our own "Reflection" in the mirror.  Please enjoy your journey to Ancient China as you see our amazing students perform the story of Mulan!

Thank you to Mrs. Fowler for taking on such a huge amount of work this in year in all aspects of the show.  Your dedication does not go unnoticed!  Mrs. Isaacs and Miss Allison, for sharing your love of theatre and working with our kids!  My husband, daughter, and parents for always supporting me in my endeavors.  I love you!
