Our production of Peter and The Starcatcher has been one of the most challenging and of course rewarding plays/musicals that I have directed.
Keeping to the theme of poor man's theater has been very important to us. When you ask the audience to use their imagination (that a rope is a doorway and we are two ships at sea leaving off the docks of Portsmouth in 1885,) It’s a lot to ask! This cleverly written play is all about transporting the audience to a time when they were young and they didn't have things so they used their imagination. I would like to thank Mike Millett for our set building and for standing in for me when my full-time job pulls me away. I would also like to thank my friend Mary Melquist for being such a hardworking person and for her organizational skills! Thanks to Carla Selberg and Helen Walter for costume designs, to Logan Whelan, who has become my spokesperson and producer, to Paul Wyman for his amazing lighting design, Ashley Albert and Marleen Wagner for their time teaching musical numbers, and Courtney Babbage for coming in last minute as our percussionist. Welcome to our production and this box office 5 times nominated Tony award-winning play and our gift to this community! We will entertain and make you cry and make you laugh! it almost feels normal again! Clap if you believe!
Kind Regards
