Director's Notes
This show has been a special one for me and for this group of students. Freaky Friday is funny and chaotic on the surface, but at its heart it is about empathy. It asks what would happen if we truly had to live in someone else’s shoes, not just for a moment, but long enough to understand them.
That idea has shaped our entire process. We have talked a lot about listening, supporting each other, and being willing to take risks even when things feel uncomfortable. Theatre is not just about performing. It is about connection, and this cast has worked hard to build that with each other.
Putting together a musical always comes with its challenges. Balancing music, choreography, acting, and school life is no small task. But this group showed up again and again with energy, humor, and a willingness to grow. Watching them support each other, laugh through mistakes, and celebrate small victories has been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.
I am so proud of the work they have done and the story they are about to share with you. I hope you enjoy the humor, the heart, and maybe even see a little bit of your own life reflected on stage.
Thank you for being here and supporting live theatre.
