Honk! - January 12 - January 14, 2023

Burley High School Bel Cantos

 End Notes

Well, to say that this has been a "ride" is a vast understatement.

We hope that you enjoy the BHS presentation of "HONK!".  The kids, Mrs. Fisher, and I have been working hard.

My wife Denise and I have directed MANY shows together.  This one has had us on the ropes a lot.  We truly believe that the kids are doing a great job and that this will be a very entertaining evening!

Hannah Groves, a new student to BHS, has jumped in to be the stage manager.  What a way to get introduced to me and the Bel Cantos, ya know?  She is doing a great job.

Our set was designed by Taylor Lilya, a senior Music Tech student.  She really knocked this outta the park.  Chris Rowley, as always, jumped in with her seamstress talents.  We had a student (Alyssa Campbell) choreograph a little, Aliina Gibby choreographed more, and I choreographed a bunch (yes, I can choreograph!).

The Lightboard is also being runned by a student.  E Tribe has really risen to this occasion and is doing excellent work under the tutelage of Melanie Dean.  John Ellis is taking the reigns as the chief bottle washer with the sound, and JD Dean is right there with him controlling the sound for the orchestra.  Layne Brown, another Tech student is in charge of the projection and the sound effects.

My Music Tech classes did the primary building.  Lance Jones brought in his amazing artistic abilities and really helped the "cartoony" aspects to this set.

This program was completed by student Alyssa Campbell. Spotlighting the show is Alyssa Campbell and Zoe Martin.  Cody Haymore, Robert Elmore and Kersey Kanekoa are controlling the rigging.

E Tribe, Taylor Lilya, James Crystal, Emma Crystal, Jessilyn Larson, Lincoln Peterson, Coulson Bliss and Britney Barfuss are taking turns with the Live Streaming.

Please forgive me if I missed anybody, however I do need to thank my wife for jumping in yet again to direct this show.  Also the normal thank yous to all of our BHS administration, the administration at the Cassia Joint School District Board of Education, and to all the parents for making sure their kid worked hard.
