Carrie the Musical - October 25 - November 03, 2019

Butte College

 End Notes

From the Director:

I thought our students were out of their minds when they suggested CARRIE the musical. The show ends very darkly and our community has been through so much in the last year. However, when they told me it's an Anti-Bullying show and they had me listen to the first song, "In", and I was hooked! Though we've set our production in the 1970s, just like the original novel CARRIE by Stephen King and the movie by Brian De Palma, we found that the lyrics and themes spoke to all of us right where we are today.

We as a cast wish to declare that none of us what this production to be viewed as anti-religion. The show focuses on the abusive sides of faith gone wrong and is not meant to be an indictment for all religion.

The students and staff have been working tirelessly for months to bring you this stunning production. We hope that you find it to be full of heart, joy and gore!

Enjoy the show! - Jesse Merz
